Prof. Dr. Tamer DEMİR serves as an ophthalmologist in Antalya. Since 2022, he has continued his practice at his own eye clinic in Antalya. With his expertise, he holds the title of “oculoplastic surgeon” and is capable of performing advanced surgical procedures on all tissues surrounding the eye and eyelids. He provides services in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases, specializing in upper eyelid aesthetics, lower eyelid aesthetics, brow lift aesthetics, almond eye aesthetics, and all types of surgical procedures involving the tissues around the eyes.
Graduation and Early Career
Prof. Dr. Tamer DEMİR graduated from Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine in 1991. Immediately after graduation, he served as a physician at Kayseri Sarız Central Health Center between 1991 and 1992. From 1992 to 1993, he worked as a physician at the Antalya Kaş Tuberculosis Dispensary.
The Path from Specialization to Professorship
Between 1994 and 1998, he served as a research assistant at Fırat University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology. In 1998, he earned the title of Assistant Professor. He continued in this position until 2005 and became an Associate Professor in 2006. Until 2012, he worked as an Associate Professor at Fırat University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology. In 2012, he was promoted to the title of Professor and continued his services at Fırat University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology, from 2012 to 2017.
Deanship of the Faculty of Medicine
Between 2017 and 2021, Prof. Dr. Tamer DEMİR worked at Çanakkale 18 Mart University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology. During his tenure at Çanakkale 18 Mart University, he was appointed as the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine.
One of his most significant achievements during his tenure was bringing the Faculty of Medicine up to international standards and obtaining an accreditation certificate for the faculty.
Head of the Department of Ophthalmology
In 2021, he served at Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology. During this period, he also held the position of Head of the Department of Ophthalmology.
Transition to Private Eye Clinic
Since 2022, he has transitioned to the private sector and continues his services in this capacity.
