Prof. Dr. Tamer Demir – Ophthalmologist in Antalya
Prof. Dr. Tamer DEMİR is an ophthalmologist providing medical services in Antalya. Since 2022, he has been continuing his practice at his private eye clinic in Antalya. As a specialist, he holds the title of oculoplastic surgeon and is highly skilled in performing advanced surgical procedures on the eyes and surrounding tissues. He offers a wide range of treatments, including upper and lower eyelid aesthetics, brow lift surgery, almond eye surgery, and various surgical procedures involving the eye and its surrounding structures, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases.
Education and Early Career
Prof. Dr. Tamer DEMİR graduated from Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine in 1991. Immediately after graduation, he worked as a physician at Kayseri Sarız Central Health Center from 1991 to 1992. He then served as a physician at Antalya Kaş Tuberculosis Control Dispensary between 1992 and 1993.
From Specialization to Professorship
Between 1994 and 1998, he worked as a Research Assistant in the Department of Ophthalmology at Fırat University Faculty of Medicine. In 1998, he earned the title of Assistant Professor and continued in this role until 2005. In 2006, he achieved the title of Associate Professor. He served as an Associate Professor at Fırat University Faculty of Medicine until 2012, when he was promoted to Professor. From 2012 to 2017, he continued his services in the Department of Ophthalmology at Fırat University Faculty of Medicine as a Professor.
Dean of the Faculty of Medicine
From 2017 to 2021, he worked in the Department of Ophthalmology at Çanakkale 18 Mart University Faculty of Medicine. During this period, Prof. Dr. Tamer DEMİR was appointed as the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Çanakkale 18 Mart University.
Throughout his tenure, he achieved significant milestones, the most notable being his contribution to aligning the Faculty of Medicine with international standards and obtaining an accreditation certificate for the institution.
Head of the Department of Ophthalmology
In 2021, he joined Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University Faculty of Medicine, where he served in the Department of Ophthalmology. During his time there, he also held the position of Head of the Department of Ophthalmology.
Transition to Private Practice
Since 2022, Prof. Dr. Tamer DEMİR has transitioned to private practice and continues to provide specialized ophthalmology services at his clinic in Antalya.
